'Magdalena', is my arrangement for two cellos, of J.S Bach’s second suite for solo cello. I named the suite in honor of Anna Magdalena, J.S. Bach's second wife, who was a professional vocalist and the one who created the first manuscript of the cello suites. The suite honors her for her contribution to the success of her famous husband; the name is also a reference to Mary Magdalene from the Bible. Each movement of the suite honors and memorializes specific members of Johann Sebastian's family that he outlived, while the two cellos, the voices working in tandem, represent the relationship between J.S. Bach and Anna Magdalena.
